Haus of Performance owned and operated by Frank Hanrahan who started working on Porsches in 1971 as a mechanic at Porsche/Audi Motor Cars in Bedford, Ohio. In the 5 years there he attended 11 Porsche training classes covering all aspects of Porsche repairs including: manual, Sportamatic, and automatic transaxles; electronic and mechanical fuel injection; 4 & 6 cylinder engine overhaul; electrical systems; chassis and alignment.
Frank was promoted to shop foreman and assistant service manager before moving to southern California. After 4 years of working in independent repair shops and 2 Porsche dealers, he opened his own repair shop; Porsche Haus, in September 1980, in the city of Costa Mesa. The company's name was changed to Haus of Performance 6 years later, to more fully portray the scope of its intent.
For over 28 years Haus of Performance has performed numerous performance modifications including:
Removing the fuel injection system, fabricating the necessary parts and installing 4 two barrel Weber carburetors on a 928 Porsche
Fabricating short-throw shift linkage for cars where kits were not available
Converting a 944 engine from fuel injection to carburetion and installing into a 924
Building high output turbocharged 911 engines with nitrous oxide injection
Installing fully programmable, digital fuel injection/ignition systems
